Klüh Security and Verkada: Partnership for Cloud-Based Security Technology

Klüh Security expands its portfolio with Verkada's cloud-based platform, combining AI analytics with in-house control center expertise.

What happened?

Klüh Security is entering into a strategic partnership with provider Verkada. The goal of the collaboration is to build a cloud-based security platform with AI-powered analytics capabilities. This expands Klüh Security's technology portfolio in the field of intelligent video security with another component.

The details

Just recently, Klüh Security had expanded its offering with Geutebrück to include locally operated video security solutions. The new partnership now adds a cloud-based alternative. Customers will in future be able to choose between on-premises and cloud architectures – depending on their security strategy, IT infrastructure, and regulatory requirements.

According to the company, Verkada's platform combines several security-relevant functional areas in a central environment: video surveillance, access control, alarming, environmental sensors, and intercom systems. The integrated AI-powered analytics functions are designed to enable rapid evaluation of security-relevant events and help identify and classify relevant situations. The partners cite further benefits including centralized management of multiple locations, high scalability, and rapid implementation without complex local server infrastructure.

However, the real added value for Klüh customers is not meant to come from the technology alone, but from its integration with Klüh Security's operational security services as well as its alarm receiving center (AES) and emergency and service control center (NSL). Security-relevant events are centrally consolidated there, evaluated, and processed according to defined procedures. According to the partners, this is intended to create seamless security workflows – from intelligent event detection through qualified alarm processing to early risk assessment and the initiation of appropriate intervention measures.

Context

The partnership reflects a trend that is currently gaining momentum in the security industry: a technology-agnostic approach in which service providers no longer rely on a single architecture but instead offer customers both local and cloud-based solutions. For Klüh Security, this means greater flexibility in meeting diverse customer requirements – regardless of whether a company depends on local infrastructure for regulatory reasons or prefers a cloud-based, scalable solution.

Particularly relevant here is the integration of technology and service: an AI-powered platform alone initially only provides data and analytics. It is only the connection to a qualified control center with AES and NSL that turns this into a complete security process, spanning from detection to intervention. This approach is likely to be of interest to companies seeking not just technology, but a comprehensive security service from a single source.

Practical tips

  • Before choosing a security architecture, companies should assess whether regulatory requirements or their own IT infrastructure favor a local or cloud-based solution.
  • When evaluating providers, it is worth checking whether the technology can be linked to professional alarm processing – for example via an AES or NSL – in order not only to detect events but also to initiate interventions.
  • The ability to centrally manage multiple locations can be a relevant decision-making criterion, especially for companies with distributed properties.
  • Before deciding on a cloud-based platform, it should be clarified which functional areas – such as access control, environmental sensors, or intercom systems – are actually needed in order to select a tailored solution.

Outlook

With the combination of Geutebrück for local solutions and Verkada for cloud-based architectures, Klüh Security is positioning itself as a technology-agnostic partner aiming to support customers with control center expertise and operational security services regardless of the chosen architecture. As CEO Sven Horstmann explains, the security solution should be geared to customers' individual requirements – not the other way around. It remains to be seen how this dual strategy of on-premises and cloud offerings proves itself in practical implementation with customers and whether further partnerships in this area will follow.
